Eduvos Final-Year Student Showcases HR Talent on the National Stage

Post by Eduvos, August 14, 2025.

Eduvos is proud to produce graduates who are not only academically prepared, but ready to step confidently into their careers and lead with impact. We’re excited to share that one such student, Rene Snyman, a final-year Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management Stream student from our Tygervalley campus, was selected to represent Eduvos and placed 3rd nationally at the 2025 South African Human Resources Universities Forum (SAHRUF) Student Competition, hosted by the South African Board for People Practices (SABPP)

What Is the SAHRUF Student Competition?

The SAHRUF Student Competition is a prestigious national event that brings together final-year Human Resource Management students from accredited higher education institutions across South Africa. It’s designed to showcase emerging HR talent by providing a platform for students to:

  • Reflect on their academic journey and career aspirations,
  • Demonstrate alignment with the SABPP HR Standards,
  • Explore key themes such as employability, future-fit capabilities, and HR strategy,
  • Present a professional 10-minute presentation judged by industry experts.

The Eduvos Selection Process

Eduvos participated in the competition through a rigorous internal vetting process. Final-year HR students across our campuses were invited to submit their presentations, which were assessed using the official SABPP national rubric. Presentations were evaluated on clarity, professionalism, relevance to industry expectations, and the student’s ability to demonstrate critical thinking and future-readiness.

After an impressive round of submissions and review by our academic team, Rene Snyman was selected as our national representative. Her presentation stood out for its insight, depth, and clear commitment to the future of HR.

Why It Matters

Participating in platforms like SAHRUF supports our mission to deliver career-ready graduates who are equipped with more than just academic knowledge. Through this competition, students engage with real-world expectations, develop their communication skills, and are empowered to see themselves as professionals already contributing to the HR industry.

Our programmes are designed with industry alignment in mind, ensuring that our students graduate ready to lead, adapt, and thrive in a fast-changing world of work. Her journey is just one of many powerful stories unfolding across our 12 campuses nationwide.

A Future HR Leader in the Making

Rene was awarded 3rd place for her outstanding presentation, which explored what it means to be a future-fit HR professional in today's evolving world of work. In addition to this achievement, she also received the highly prestigious Marius Meyer SABPP Excellence Award, recognising her as one of the top emerging talents in the HR field.

Rene’s professional, insightful, and well-researched submission stood out among students from leading public universities across South Africa. She represented Eduvos with distinction, confidence, and a deep understanding of the human resource profession’s future.

We are incredibly proud of Rene and extend our warmest congratulations on this outstanding national recognition.
