Meet Sahir Maharaj, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Data Science stream graduate whose passion for data and artificial intelligence (AI) has taken him from lecture halls to the global stage.
Sahir's interest in data and AI was driven by a natural pull toward solving complex problems through technology. "Data science offered the perfect balance between logic, creativity, and experimentation, allowing me not only to understand what is happening, but why it's happening and what decisions should follow," he explains.
What continues to motivate him is the pace of the field itself. "Technology evolves daily, and being immersed in AI means constantly learning, adapting, and building new things that didn't exist months earlier," he shares. For Sahir, that sense of continuous discovery keeps the work exciting and meaningful. He excels in an environment where building something new today can reshape how businesses think tomorrow.

His work has been featured twice on New York's Times Square Billboard and highlighted in The Indian Express as part of the world's top creators.
Beyond recognition, Sahir finds meaning in impact. He has built open-source AI applications used by thousands and has mentored more than 900 professionals across industries. Looking ahead, his goal is to continue building advanced AI solutions at scale, focusing on productising AI and expanding innovation into global markets. “At the core of my work is using technology to genuinely improve people's lives, helping individuals work smarter, and enabling businesses to operate better,” says Sahir.
