Michael Dorfling, the Academic Programme Convener in the Faculty of Humanities reflects on the  recent Humanities event at the Nelson Mandela Bay campus in this faculty feature.
The Eduvos Nelson Mandela Bay Psychology 1 class hosted a Wellness Day for all students. The aim was to help fellow students prepare and have some fun before the upcoming summative assessments.

The day was filled with many exciting activities aligned with the theme of Wellness, focusing on stress management and providing study and coping tips. The students set up various stalls with activities including an affirmation selfie station, decorating your own gingerbread person, making a stress ball, mediation sessions, hula races, and scratch and relax colouring.

The event was coordinated by Psychology lecturer Jessica Kable, who emphasised the importance of looking after your mental wellbeing. "The essence of psychology was practiced today. Small acts of kindness made a big difference, not only to the students studying the module but to the Vossie community. The students could apply the theories they learnt to build and strengthen relationships, staving off the feeling of isolation that diminishes our mental well-being.  Today, they truly embodied the Eduvos ethos of Humanness".

Eduvos has multiple Bachelor of Arts qualifications with Psychology streams including Psychology and English, Psychology and Human Resources, and Psychology and Political Science. This allows you to tailor your education to your future.
