How to Succeed in Your Studies at Eduvos.

Post by Eduvos, February 21, 2025.

Success at Eduvos isn’t just about what you know — it’s about how you approach your studies. Preparation, organisation, and consistency can make all the difference. Whether you're a new or returning Vossie, adopting smart study habits will help you stay on track, manage your workload, and reduce stress. Here’s how you can set yourself up for success at Eduvos.

Create a Study-Friendly Environment

Your surroundings play a big role in your ability to concentrate. A cluttered space can lead to a cluttered mind, so start by keeping your area tidy and stocked with essentials like notebooks, stationery, and a water bottle.

Choose a quiet spot with good lighting and minimal distractions. If background noise is an issue, use noise-cancelling headphones or listen to soft instrumental music.

Make use of our campus study spaces, whether you need a quiet environment or a collaborative workspace, our campuses offer dedicated study and resource areas.

Keep Your Study Materials Organised

Create a system that works for you:

  • Use colour-coded folders for different subjects and modules

  • Store digital notes on apps like OneNote

  • Keep a dedicated study binder with essential notes and worksheets

  • Regularly check your coursework and deadlines on myLMS,  including timetables, course materials, assessment deadlines, and discussion forums

Updating your to-do list daily will help you stay on top of your academics.

Plan Your Study Time Effectively

A well-structured schedule prevents last-minute cramming and helps you retain information better. Try the Pomodoro Technique–study for 25 minutes, take a five-minute break, and repeat. This method helps maintain focus without burnout.

Prioritise your tasks by tackling difficult subjects first when your mind is fresh. Setting realistic goals will also help prevent feeling overwhelmed.

Check your class schedules in advance, it’s important to arrive on time and come prepared for your lectures. This helps you stay engaged and keep up with the materials discussed.

Come Prepared and Engage in Class

To make the most of your classes at Eduvos, preparation is key. Review lecture materials, complete your readings, and jot down any questions before each session. Arriving prepared allows you to engage more actively in discussions, clarify complex topics, and connect new concepts to real-world applications. Take structured notes, listen attentively, and contribute meaningfully to class conversations. After class, reinforce your learning by summarising key points, starting assignments early, and discussing topics with study groups.

Making preparation a habit will help you stay on track, deepen your understanding, and set yourself up for academic success.

Find a Study Buddy or Group

Studying with others can keep you motivated and improve your understanding of complex topics. Having a study buddy or small study group can help keep you accountable, provide different perspectives on various subjects, and make learning more interactive and engaging.

If you prefer independent study, consider attending tutorial sessions or faculty-led workshops to stay connected and motivated.

Balance Your Academics with Other Responsibilities

While attending classes and studying is important, maintaining a healthy balance is essential. Taking care of your mental and physical well-being will ultimately improve your academic performance.
