Post by Eduvos, September 23, 2025.

Eduvos is proud to announce that two of our talented Faculty of Law Vossies, Aqeelah Nabbie and Thabang Sethwana, represented Eduvos at the 14th Annual Child Law Moot Court Competition, hosted by the University of Pretoria’s Centre for Child Law from 19 – 20 September 2025.

A Platform for Future Legal Leaders

This national competition brings together law students from higher education institutions across South Africa to argue complex legal cases focused on child law. Participants simulated courtroom proceedings and presented arguments before a panel of judges, just like in real-life legal practice.

Child law is a vital area of legal practice that ensures the protection and rights of children in South Africa. This competition not only tests legal knowledge but also encourages students to think critically about the systems that impact vulnerable communities.

Meet Our Eduvos Representatives

Aqeelah and Thabang have shown exceptional dedication, research skills, and advocacy in preparing for this event. Along with competing in moot court competitions, students now also have access to the newly introduced Eduvos Law Clinic at our Midrand campus, giving them real-world experience to strengthen their legal skills. This is a space where knowledge meets real-world application, giving our law students the opportunity to put their learning into practice while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

For Eduvos students pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Bachelor of Commerce in Law, or Bachelor of Arts streams in Law and Politics or Law and Economics, the clinic plays a vital role in the students’ academic journey. Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) is a credit-bearing academic requirement for specific qualifications. Where applicable, WIL provides students with valuable exposure to real-world work environments through structured placements. This national competition fulfilled part of their Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) requirement, offering practical, supervised experience in a professional legal environment.

We congratulate Aqeelah and Thabang as they undertook this exciting challenge. Their participation is a testament to Eduvos’ commitment to shaping socially conscious and justice-driven legal professionals.

There’s still time to enrol for 2025, classes start 29 September, and if you’re in Matric, this is the perfect opportunity to pre-enrol for 2026.
