We believe that transformation begins with people and community, a belief brought to life in Potchefstroom through a powerful partnership with Love Potch. Together, we share a vision of building a future where education, connection, and care go hand in hand.
This vision took shape on the wall of our Potchefstroom campus, where Eduvos students worked alongside the Love Potch team and local artists to co-create a mural along Steve Biko Street. The result is more than just art. It is a living reflection of Potchefstroom’s spirit and a symbol of what becomes possible when education and community unite.
Each element of the mural tells a story rooted in place and purpose. The Grey Heron, a bird often seen along the Mooi River, represents patience, grace and our connection to nature. The South African Ground Squirrel adds a sense of playfulness and curiosity, reminding us of the energy our students bring to campus. A nest in an oak tree celebrates the oak-lined streets that give Potch its unique character. Just like those trees, Eduvos has become a home for people from different backgrounds. And the South African Sign Language symbol for “home” highlights our belief in inclusion and belonging for everyone.
This mural reflects who we are. Every brushstroke captures our core values: accountability, humanness, relevance, and entrepreneurial spirit. It’s a visual promise that Eduvos is not only in the community, but we are also part of it. Our collaboration with Love Potch is proof that real transformation is a collective effort. When higher education, community, and local industry come together, we unlock opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and thrive. Sometimes that looks like a mural. Other times it is as simple as offering a student a safe space to dream.
To the people of Potchefstroom, this mural is our promise to you. Together with Love Potch, we are painting a future that is brighter, kinder and full of possibility.
