Eduvos Hosts Annual Research Indaba.

Eduvos will host its annual Research Indaba from 12 to 14 November 2025 at our Bedfordview Campus, bringing together scholars, students, and industry leaders from across Africa to explore how technology, innovation, and sustainability can converge to create meaningful, real-world impact.

Building on the revised Eduvos Research Agenda (2023–2027), this year’s Indaba will centre on the theme “Research for Real World Impact: Empowering Sustainable Development in Africa.” The event underscores our commitment to advancing transdisciplinary, community-engaged research that addresses complex societal challenges while shaping a sustainable, equitable, and future-ready continent.

A Platform for Impactful Research.

The 2025 Eduvos Research Indaba positions research beyond the pursuit of knowledge, serving as a catalyst for transformation. Eduvos’ research philosophy is guided by the belief that research should not only inform but transform, translating academic inquiry into practical solutions that strengthen communities, empower students, and contribute to Africa’s sustainable development.

Through keynote sessions, panel discussions, and student showcases, the Indaba will highlight the convergence of technology, sustainability, and human development as critical drivers of Africa’s future.

It’s about shaping Africa’s sustainable prosperity through the power of technology and human ingenuity.”

Themes for a Sustainable Future.

Structured around five core sub-themes derived from Eduvos’ 2023–2027 Research Agenda, the Indaba will encourage collaboration across disciplines and sectors:

1. Technological Transformation and Innovation – exploring ethical and future-focused innovation, AI, and speculative technologies that address Africa’s local and regional challenges.
2. Sustainability and Climate Adaptation – promoting climate resilience, community-led sustainability, and environmental justice.
3. Equity, Inclusion, and Access – expanding access to education, social equity, and inclusive governance.
4. Changing World of Work and Lifelong Learning – advancing future-fit skills, digital literacy, and partnerships that connect education with employability.
5. Global Collaboration and Regional Resilience – fostering South-South partnerships, innovation ecosystems, and cross-sectoral collaboration for regional empowerment.

These interconnected themes embody our guiding research principles: transdisciplinarity, technological responsiveness, community engagement, curricular integration, and ethical sustainability.
