Eduvos’s 2023 #RETROspective Graphic Design Showcase.

Our Bedfordview, Midrand, Pretoria and Tyger Valley campuses recently celebrated their Graphic Design students at our annual Eduvos Portfolio Showcase, organised by our Graphic Design Department in the Humanities faculty.

This year we celebrated more than two decades of Graphic Design graduates under the theme #RETROspective2023: InspiredByThePastToDesignTheFuture. 'Retrospective' echoed the essence of the Art Deco Movement, how designers could draw inspiration from historical aesthetics to craft innovative, technology-driven, and visually captivating futures. These showcases served as a testament to our enduring capacity to rediscover and reinvigorate the past, to shape a more beautiful and imaginative tomorrow. These showcases are incredible opportunities for our students to present the design, marketing, and entrepreneurial skills they have developed throughout their academic journey. Students from every year are represented, from our Pre-Degree Foundation Programme students to our third year students.

Each year we reach out to and invite industry partners and professionals as this provides valuable exposure for our students to connect and network with industry partners for possible scholarships, internships, or job prospects. Some of our industry guests included Ogilvy SA, Design Worx, TBWA SA, Inscape and more. Their support is immeasurable and significant to both our students and Graphic Design qualification. The showcase is also a great opportunity for our students’ parents, sponsors and friends to see the creations they’ve worked on over their 3 years of study.

Our Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design degree is a career-focused qualification that prepares our students for work in the world of advertising, multimedia and design. Students develop a broad theoretical foundation and practical experience in various core areas of graphic design such as Communication Design, Digital Design, Drawing, Web Design, Typography, and Motion Graphics. We pride ourselves on this comprehensive qualification and its diverse range of mediums, allowing our students to explore and find their niche.

In case you missed the showcases, don’t worry, we’re one step ahead. We captured moments from our Midrand and Tyger Valley campuses. Now you can enjoy seeing our talented Vossies and the walls and hallways filled with years of hard work and dedication.
