When students, businesses, and higher education institutions work together, everyone benefits. Students gain practical experience that prepares them for the workplace and businesses gain access to fresh ideas and emerging talent. This commitment to shared growth has shaped Eduvos Partner Plus, a new Community Engagement initiative launched by Eduvos Potchefstroom to strengthen collaboration between the campus and the local business community.
Launched recently, the initiative brought together 20 local businesses to explore how working more closely with Eduvos could support business growth while creating valuable learning opportunities for students. The response was immediate, with all 20 businesses joining Eduvos Partner Plus, laying a strong foundation for the initiative's continued growth.
Rather than following a one-size-fits-all model, Eduvos Partner Plus enables businesses to engage in ways that suit their needs and capacity. Partners can choose to take part in business development workshops, networking opportunities and consultations, host students through Work-Integrated Learning (WIL), or connect with the Eduvos community through campus engagement and promotional opportunities. These connections also give students valuable workplace exposure through internships, practical projects and industry engagement that builds their career readiness.
As Eduvos Partner Plus grows, it will strengthen the relationship between Eduvos Potchefstroom and the local business community while supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In doing so, the campus continues to play an active role in the social and economic development of Potchefstroom. Together, these partnerships create a more connected ecosystem where students, businesses, and local organisations all benefit.
Eduvos Partner Plus reflects the impact Community Engagement can have beyond campus. By bringing together higher education, industry, and community, the initiative is equipping students with practical experience, supporting local businesses, and building lasting partnerships that contribute to the long-term prosperity of Potchefstroom.
