Our Faculty of Information Technology is designed for students who want to develop the skills that shape how the world works. Qualifications in the Faculty of Information Technology

The Faculty of Information Technology offers a wide range of qualifications designed to support different entry points, interests, and career routes within the tech industry. Whether you are starting your journey or looking to specialise, our faculty offers a clear pathway to help you grow.

If you require additional preparation, the Bachelor of Science Access Programme (Information Technology) provides an alternative route into degree-level study if you obtained a bachelor’s pass but don’t meet the subject requirements for our degree programmes. If you did not achieve a bachelor’s pass in your matric results, our Pre-degree Foundation Programme (Information Technology) offers an opportunity to progress into a degree programme.

At a higher certificate level, you can begin your journey in IT by building a strong foundation in core areas of the field. These programmes offer a range of specialised streams, allowing you to develop practical skills and explore various streams.

As you progress, degree-level study gives you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge and focus on the areas that interest you most. You can choose between a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology which offers specialisation in areas such as:


Admission Requirements

Admission requirements vary depending on your chosen programme. In general, you will need a National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent qualification that meets the entry requirements for your selected programme.

For degree-level programmes such as the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, you need 50% or above for Grade 12 Mathematics to gain admission.

As an IT student, you have the opportunity to earn industry-recognised certifications from organisations such as AWS Academy, CompTIA, SAS Institute, and Intel Corporation, giving you exposure to the tools and standards used in the working world.

Student success in real-world environments further reflects the hands-on, skills-driven nature of our programmes. Four IT students from our Mowbray campus were recently selected for the 2025 Pick n Pay Graduate Programme, highlighting the practical skills, industry readiness, and problem-solving ability developed throughout their studies.
