Eduvos Bachelor of Commerce in Law graduate, Asande talks to us about his Eduvos journey at our Durban (Umhlanga) campus.

Why did you decide to study at Eduvos?

I decided to pursue a BCom in Law at Eduvos because of the qualifications comprehensive content within each module. As well as the fact that studying a qualification that is internationally recognised meant that my specific qualification had equal measure to those at other institutions.

What was your Eduvos experience like?

I believe I had an incredible experience. I was elected to be in the Student Representative Council and served as the SRC Treasurer, which allowed me to work with the management team who were so helpful in ensuring we were able to execute our duties to the best of our abilities.

All Eduvos staff are determined in welcoming the students within the premises of the institution. This starts from the security guard that you'll be exposed to when you enter the premises right up to the General Manager while walking through the corridors. Eduvos’s lecturers would help students with their concerns and help where they could, coming to class well-prepared. Going above and beyond for their students and really taking the time to help us grasp the content they were lecturing.

I was in the poetry club, I’m such a lover of poetry and we had so much fun. We would have poetry readings and invite external guests to share in these sessions.

What makes Eduvos unique?

Eduvos’s integrity and work ethic stood out to me. As well as prioritising students’ mental health and providing services that help combat mental health issues students were experiencing or had experienced. I personally used these services and benefited from them.

How would you encourage students to consider studying at Eduvos?

Eduvos provided me with flexibility and efficiency. That sense of student support was easily realised. It is valuable and of great esteem.

Besides obtaining an internationally recognised qualification from a reputable institution, as a prospective student you will be exposed to staff members that have the interest of their students at heart, and they will provide you with guidance in accomplishing your desires or dreams. Eduvos helps you to realise your dreams and have them come to fruition. Keisha Reddi really helped me during my time at Eduvos, she encouraged me to pursue further studies in law as she saw me as a legal practitioner. I have since started my Honours in law at another higher education institution across the country.

If you are determined and really want to accomplish what you’ve set your mind to, you have got to incorporate resilience, persistence and perseverance. Those things have helped me greatly in being a recognised Eduvos alum.
