Eduvos Alumni Reconnect on the Padel Court.

Eduvos recently brought our alumni together for padel events in Pretoria, Bedfordview and Mbombela, giving Vossies the opportunity to reconnect, strengthen their networks, and enjoy some friendly competition.

The events welcomed graduates from different cohorts, qualifications, and career stages. Experienced players and padel newcomers teamed up on the courts before catching up over refreshments and sharing where life had taken them since graduation.

The events also brought different generations of the Eduvos community together. In Pretoria, three generations of campus SRC Presidents reconnected: Fezile Sikhondo (2023), Neo Kobe (2024) and current SRC President Vukosi Mnisi.

For Neo, one of the highlights was seeing how quickly those connections formed. “It was great watching alumni who studied different qualifications, years apart, team up and compete like they’d known each other for years,” he shared. It was a great example of how connections made during your time as a student can continue long after graduation.

Supporting Each Other Beyond Graduation

For recent graduate Christian Sibuyi, the event came at an important time. After facing several setbacks in his search for employment, meeting other graduates gave him a space to talk openly about his experiences and hear from people navigating their own career journeys.

“The Alumni padel event was really what I needed to get my spirits back up because I got to interact and share my experiences with people who are similarly in the same position as me,” Christian shared. Through the Eduvos alumni community, graduates like Christian can continue sharing experiences, building professional relationships, and supporting one another as their careers develop.

Once a Vossie, Always a Vossie

The gatherings in Pretoria, Bedfordview, and Mbombela were a reminder that being part of the Eduvos community doesn’t end at graduation. Thank you to the Eduvos Alumni Board, the organisers who made these events possible, and all the alumni who joined us.
